This engaging one-day course explores the role of the copywriter in creating effective communications. You’ll learn about the different hats the writer wears, the difference between copy and content, and the input needed for good writing. You’ll also pick up tips and techniques that you can apply in your everyday work, through a mix of discussion and practical exercises. Explore copywriting across a range of media and pick up advice on best practice from an industry professional.

Who should attend?
It may be you’re a marketer who does some copywriting as part of your job or you have a broader role in communications or design and are expected to write. You’re looking to get a good grasp of the fundamentals and find additional inspiration.
Your trainer
Phil Woodford is a highly experienced copywriter and former creative director, who works closely with agencies and directly with clients to create effective messaging. He holds a Master’s degree in Occupational and Business Psychology and has taught advertising, copywriting, media trends and presentations skills at University of the Arts London, St Mary’s University London, OMNES Education and other institutions. He is a course instructor for the Direct Marketing Association of Northern California and hosts a weekly news review show on Colourful Radio, broadcast from London on DAB.
Venue and timings
The course will take place at Leonardo Hotel, Great Victoria St, Belfast BT1 6DY (formerly Jury’s Inn) on Monday 27th November. Refreshments and lunch will be provided as part of the fee. The day starts at 09.15 and finishes at 16.45.
Payment
The cost of the course is £395.00 + VAT. If you wish to attend, please initially email info@herecomesthecavalry.com
With the acknowledgement, you will receive bank details to make a transfer to Here Comes The Cavalry Ltd in advance of the course. Please note that the full fee is payable a week before the session at the latest.
Cancellation
A minimum number of delegates will be required to make the session viable and to ensure an appropriate level of interaction and collaboration. Here Comes The Cavalry Ltd reserves the right to cancel the course if it attracts insufficient numbers, but will provide at least three weeks’ notice of cancellation and arrange a full refund of any fees. Delegates are advised not to make any travel or accommodation arrangements until this point three weeks out from the course. Here Comes The Cavalry Ltd cannot take responsibility for any expenses incurred in attending.
