A graduate of the London School of Economics, Phil organised and marketed conferences for a professional engineering institute before pursuing a career as a copywriter. After working with an international direct marketing business writing ads and direct mail, he moved into agencies specialising in employee communications and employer branding. A creative director by his mid-thirties, Phil struck out on his own at the end of 2005 and has since worked with a wide variety of advertising, design and branding agencies on a freelance basis. His copywriting stretches across a wide range of media, from traditional print through to online content, email campaigns and social media.
Phil is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing’s Global Delivery Framework and an associate lecturer at University of the Arts London. He delivers training courses for a wide range of blue-chip corporations, government agencies and charities, while also teaching at French business school INSEEC U in London and Paris. His work regularly takes him around the UK and he has also run marketing communications and copywriting programmes in the Republic of Ireland, The Netherlands, Italy, Germany, Spain and Canada.
Each Friday, Phil co-hosts a news review show on Colourful Radio from London’s Africa Centre, which is streamed online and available via DAB in Manchester, Birmingham and Glasgow in the UK.
